I'd be interested too, as he was my hero as a young lad.
'Aye, it were right tough but i put hammer down...'
Magic.
He had some sort of mental problems at one stage, and i think he married a Canadian mtb chick if my memory is right, but no idea after he gave up pro racing.

The last thing I read about him, he was working as a postie and enjoying life after racing and getting over his illness.

Watched him win the World Mountain Bike Hill Climb in Colorado in 1990. How did that not catch on - the Hill Climb event?

The man is class.

Ahhh tim gould, going back a while with this one! My first mountain bike was a peugeot tim gold replica, saw one very similar chained up and left to rot outside a pub in brizzle a while back - felt like nicking it and saving it from rusting to death. That man couldn't half climb up a hill, powerhouse.

I loved Tim Gould too!!
I bought a Bell helmet to be the same as him.
Does anyone remember him being on a Saturday morning children's show with Philip Schofield?! ๐Ÿ™‚
I also used to like Caroline Alexander.

Yeah, I bought a video of the colorado world champs, and used to watch tim winning the hill climb, at least once a day. Like someone said above he was wayyyy cooler than the raleigh boys.

They should defo re-introduce the hill climb, you have DH so why not UH.

I reckon he should write his auto biog.

I'll always remember the Peugeot TV advert with Tim Gould David Baker riding in the peaks? to the music Yazz, The Only Way Is Up.

The footage with Philip Schofield is up on YouTube somewhere. Tim has seen it and apparently it made him chuckle ๐Ÿ™‚
Like Bikerbruce I (and quite a few others on here I suspect) know Tim fairly well. He still pops up at events now and then as his children have started to ride.
