Hi SJ, based in the valley also, so for me it would not be a draw, however as a focal point defiantly.
The viability of what will be a commercial venture depends on a lot of things, such as type of premises, who builds it and or provides the infrastructure, length of lease, type of operating licence and length of the lease.
Also some reliable numbers reflecting both footfall and wheel count will be important outside the 4 great events we have there every year so far.

I've only been up to Lee Quarry once (less than a year after it opened). It was a great place - we drove over after spending the morning at Stainburn.
Would love to live closer to a facility like this to be honest; 150 miles each way means it's not somewhere i can often visit.

For me the riding comes first. It can have the best visitor centre/car park/toilets/showers etc in the world, but I wouldn't visit a trail centre twice if the riding was below par.

It's not really a commercially viable operation is it? Is the suggestion to use public money here? Or private contractor?
Done, but I agree with Brant really, I can't imagine a Visitor Centre or a new bike shop would survive very long. Pursuading someone like Ride On to move there might work if its down near the road, so easily accessible for passing trade and people not going to the quarry.
I don't think they'll ever be enough trade for a cafe or visitor centre though, even if you look at other places with them, they need to be in very busy places with more than just mountain bikers.
The biggest thing LQ needs is some proper secure parking.
Just done another one! There's a friendly lady up there today and I thought it'd be rude to say no.
