Bit of a treat to myself:

I think it was Samuri's white one that piqued my fancy. Just looked right.

That makes eight of them now.

You wouldn't want more than thirteen though. I wonder what the final five will look like?

I want a pompetamine to commute on. No particular reason but I want one.

Was hoping they would come up in the frameset bundles so I'd have an excuse. Could just build a drop bar 29er I suppose.

cheers ononeorange.

the JPS has come out really well:

And the paint finish is the best yet.
Really deep, thick, lustrous.

And the joy of 8x 27.2mm seat tubes - makes swapping posts a no-brainer.

That's quite lovely. What rims are you using?

Tempted by those forks too - would be a nice alternative to my hideous roadrat ones.

Great blog Stoner - wish I'd hung on to lil' red now 😥 - 4 years I kept that bike 😯 . Only managed three Inbreds myself but I often think it'd be rude not to make it four 😛

theyre a spare set of 29ers I had. One's a Sunn Equalizer, 19mm I think, on a superstar superlight fron hub, (I really ought to move that over to the Ti29er to match the Sunn + SSC rear) and a Bonty Mustang on an XTR hub which I got for a song a few years ago. No Idea how wide the mustang is but not very would be my guess - no more than 19mm certainly.

Its only rude if you flaunt it mama...oh wait,,,.... 😳

I'm off on an EBay hunt now, for BB&s and levers and drop bars and wheels and forks and....

Gah. This will be expensive.

What levers/bars are you using? Are they specific to the road BB7s, or will the MTB BB7s work with them too?

I should lug my 7 out for a pic, if they are ever all working at once :p

They are MTB BB7s which I stole off mrs S 456, in exchange for some bargin deore hydros from Rose Bikes.

The Midge bars and Tektro (I think, or Dia Compe 287s) levers which have v-brake pull rates came off my pompino when I changed them over to road bars, forks and brakes.

if it's an arms race, Al...

That pic excludes my other 2x bikes - a 1970s Falcon SS commuter that I keep locked up at Paddington, and my Brompton, for work trips that dont take me to London. Then there's the boys' two Islabikes... 😉

Thanks. Going to convert my roadrat, think the drops and hoods are a more comfortable setup.

There must come a point where you have enough to trade in for one decent bike.

That's a nice looking bike, think I might give some midge bars a go on my road bike as I never really get onto the drops.

Enjoyed reading that. Just had delivery of my very first On-One, a Pompetamine Versa; drop bars with 8 speed Alfine and BB7 disc brakes. Two rides in I'm loving the versatility.

Paul

p.s. the "glow in the dark" white frame really does glow in the dark.

Just bought BB7s and drops. Midge bars next, trying to decided if those forks arrive at the same time or not.

On-Several...

I don't condone the madness, but I can understand it (Bontragers x 4 - & greatly want a Bonty CX).

Unlike your black one! Sorry, but something just not quite right about that for me - strange as I really quite like your blue Pompinos, and wondering what the difference is.

I like the look of that. It would be a nice match for my Barry White Inbred.

They don't do a geared version, do they? I'd be tempted if they did...

Have you got normal (proper? 😉 ) bikes too or just O-O's? if so how many total?
My mrs won't be too impressed when my new "frame replacement"* actually turns into bike number 7.

*TBF I did intend it to be a replacement but I don't think I've got the heart to bin my oldest and favouritist frame.

£900 + a few quid for some SB8s - would be a great geared version.

Nice one Stoner...
That's uncanny. Mines fixed though.
Awesome commute bike that will also tackle anything else I might throw at it.
Just need to trim my steerer down now that I'm happy with the set up.
