Although the lighthouse keepers from Chewing The Fat spring to mind.

    Thanks for posting! A1+

At the start I thought this was “Medusa does the Space Station”. But no.

Also there seems to be no room for chunky folk in space!

Not being rude but I would have a different haircut. Henry Rollins at 17 minutes has it sorted.

I am constantly amazed by the chipper attitude of astronauts, I would not cope with their day to day environment at all.

Here is a list of neurosis that would drive me potty:
Fear of flying, vertigo, claustrophobia, paruresis, homesickness .

And another major one which is just a general fear of impending disaster, either on launch, on board or on the way home, the risks are great. Ultra brave, ultra cool people. You can see why they are the cream of the crop.

I’ve alway thought that on long-haul flights, if the passengers had a whip round, the pilot could be persuaded to do a few of those parabolic manoeuvres so we could all have a bit of a float about. 🙂

wowser. The idea of isolating the bike not to shake the space station is amazing. Stuff you would never guess

It is interesting but I think the points I came away with were…

What a mess! They have cables all over the place and the bedroom looked like my son’s. I would have thought keeping things tidy was mandatory, you don’t want to pull out the cable that keeps them up there by accident.

That lady had nice smooth legs. How does she shave? How do any of them shave without hair getting everywhere?

Has anyone had sex up there yet?

Fascinating stuff – I’ll show it to my sons later.

I was surprised by the number of trailing cables too.

I’m lucky enough to have flown parabolas in a “vomit comet”, it is awesome, if you get the chance, do it.

One thing though – you’re used to seeing astronauts floating around slowly, so you think it’ll be like that. In reality, that’s cos it’s their job and they know what they’re doing! There’s no force to slow you down, so you ping about all over the shop till you get used to it!

I believe the answer is yes, it was a Nasa experiment. Remember reading about it somewhere.

Yeah, seems that it’s been done, but not with people. Only with guinea pigs

There are some sick people at NASA.

(really though, my understanding is this is a hoax and that it’s never been officially tried)

I could ride that with flats.

    Technique innit.

Bit weird how when the equipment is on the ground people walk around it in hair nets but when it’s ‘up’ there…

Excellent vid thanx for posting. Like others I was amazed at just how untidy it all seemed …I would be terrified of ripping some important wire out..but I guess all the important ones are tucked away. The Russians ship seemed to be a bit more organised.

Ceilings really waste useful space don’t they.

EDIT: just got to the bit with the descent module… that is a tiny thing to be strapped in as you hurtle from space…

    …No thank you.

To be fair I think they get plenty of warning before the council inspectors arrive.

I only expected to watch the first few minutes but sat through the whole 25! thanks for posting unfitgeezer. It must take a lot of adjusting returning to earth, the lady in the vid said she hadn’t sat down for 6 months!?!

Thanks for posting, unfitgeezer, this is what the internet should be for.

    If you liked that, try these;

    ISS on Facebook.

    NASA ISS website.

This is pretty cool too, ISS and the moon as seen from earth.
