I’ve thought the exact same thing. I guess he thinks it lends him a slightly eccentric look in keeping with being an arts correspondent. He just looks a tit.

Well to be honest I can’t say I’ve ever been bothered taking any interest in what any “BBC art correspondent” has to say, but I know what you mean about people with unacceptable mugs appearing on the telly. I reckon it’s about time the BBC started recruiting some decent crumpet for the telly, and transferred geezers with ugly mugs over to their radio broadcasting ops. IMHO.

What about that music critic from the Grauniad/Indie.

    Proper bell-end.

    EDIT here we go:

Sad to see people being judged on their appearances. Time for some reflection perhaps – or are we all aesthetically perfect?

Perhaps he is knowledgeable about art/culture?

[edit – indeed his bio is quite revealing. Did you notice his first job?]

Bleeding hope so. Otherwise that would add insult to injury ffs.

Good job there are no pseudo lefties out there Ernie 😉 as they might assume that his appearrance doesn’t exactly mark him out as a working class hero. Foutrunately the true socialists would behave better and respect the notion of equality and not descrminate based on appearance/skin colour/unusual features etc.

Good luck to him if he knows his stuff. Equality of opportunity and all that.

Don’t know what you’re on about teamhurtmore, but there’s absolutely no excuse at all for anyone to have hair like that. Whatever their politics/class/skin colour. Specially if they intend to appear on my telly.

I think all this free expression is terrible. I preferred it just before the war. Everyone looked the same and knew his place. You know what started it? The bicycle. That and education. We might have known nothing and lived our lives in the same village, but at least we were happy. I blame the Beatles, can’t even spell, it’s not an insect you know. If it weren’t for the NHS they’d die naturally. It’d be a kindness really… oh put your pitchfork down and belt up you ill thought out anachronism.
