Ok, ive had a Giant Anthem for 18 months, my first descent bike. Other than htis I have had little experience. Im 16.5st and about 6ft1.

Done lots of trail centres and just a few Cumbria loops, I've really pushed the 100mm bike to its limit without causing it damage. I can do Llandegla in about 2hrs15 on the Anthem.

I've been looking for a bike that is at the lighter end of the "AM" category. Something that can handle the beating but can still get me up the hills without too much more effort. Im also looking at a Euro trip and perhaps some Gravity Enduro (not expecting to win though, or finish)

As everyone knows, the web based direct from manufacturer bikes are impossible to beat for value but the problem comes from the gamble. The unknown, the risk...

The bike is a bargain, €3000 for a top spec bike. I got the bike on the RTW through work so I have no idea how much it is actually going to cost me + I dont think im going to pay VAT on it either.....shh

Im taking it out at the weekend for the first time however the local route tells me that the bike is light enough for anything, the geometry is east to get used to after the Anthem. The components are better than I could have hoped for, doesnt make a noise.

Im a chav, so I like the paint job but I know its not to everyones taste.

The wheels are light, tubeless, and feel bomb proof.

Done like the cable routing under the down tube but they are secured well. I wrap my bike in self amalgamating tape so this makes it difficult. My Anthem is like new underneath.

Needs a bash.

Ill let you know how I get on at the weekend.

Here is the spec - http://www.yt-industries.com/shop/de/Bikes/Wicked160ltd

Two Questions*
How so quick on delivery?
How on RTW?

*Very trick for the dosh but they still employ a guy to design the decals who is the Skorpions freak

I was surprised at how light the wheels were as well and even lighter when I took the tubes and rim tape out.

Edit, and the more air in the shock than recommended is about right.

As for the graphic design, I think it has a racer edge theme going on which will mean go faster added goodness.
Does that make me. Chavvy as it looks ok to me from swing it first time in your photos made bettered with the kit dripping from the kick ass four bar frame.
Where are you based and is it a large?

for the price they are great, if i had £3K to blow on a bike id get one. Rather have shimano than Sram stuff but for 3K you have to take whats affordable on build kits and manufacturers get way better deals on SRAM than Shimano.

Nice bike BTW. Graphice excepted, of course...

Get the tape off?
Line the tyres up?
Graphics are a soooo not this year?

Have you hear your selves you bunch of fekin panzies 😛 😀

Llandegla is my local. Its a medium. I could have gone for the large but I like a smaller frame under me. Its 0.5cm linger than the Anthem.

Bland - its €3000 (euros),thats about £2,500 (pounds) + about £50 postage. No import costs. They will take part payment of £1000 via one account (RTW scheme) saving another £400. Making a total of £2100
With the RTW scheme you effectively you only need £1500 cash. Serious money saving. I also made a few other savings but I cant really disclose that....

Weight......? Light enough for a fatty to use it.

Colours will match your shell suit well.

Enjoy the bike mate, i hope you manage to get out on it over the coming months 🙂

(p.s. good luck for next week, hope it all goes well 🙂 )

Weeksy - you scouse ****, dont make me show the before and after pics of you....thanks for the wishes mate, ill keep in touch and deffo get out again.

Near 400 PSI - im 16.5 st and running 25% sag. Thats what it needs. In not like fox stuff, BOS seem to run high pressures. No mention of max warnings.

Wwaswas - I aint leaving any time soon, director init.

Gibbonarms - what PSI do you run in the rear shock?

I'm about the same weight, with a Vip'r on a Spicy, which is very similar linkage and same travel, and I'm nowhere near 400

Edit - The BOS chart below suggests 255psi for the YT for a 105kg rider

Hi Terry,

Did YT sort you out with the UK B2W scheme? I didn't realise they did this. Or was it just a case that you got a receipt from them and did all the paperwork yourself?

Would really love to know so that I can look into doing the same myself.

Thanks, Darren
