Just had my last 20 odd rides kudos'd by a guy who is apparently from Belgium and is a pro rider for canyon. Is this a scam? I can't work out how it would be, but nor can I see how my commute to work is of interest to a european professional, who must be pretty gifted as they do similar mileage to me 😕

Kudos spam, it was only a matter of time before someone automated it. I'm guessing the more followers they get then the easier it is to get sponsorship etc.
I'm another that gets Kudos from him every ride and from several other folks that I've no idea who they are.
Far worse IMO is all those people who give you kudos and you don't know who they are but you know you ought to.
Sounds like he has found a way to automate giving kudos the same way people do on instagram to build up a fan base and get reciprical follows. He will then unfollow you and hope you don't notice I expect, is really prevalent on instagram but not seen it done on strava but makes sense it will happen

I have a real problem remembering forum users real names, which gets awkward on Strava and Facebook. Sometimes if I interact a lot with a person it creates a relationship with them when I may also be interacting on STW without realising it's the same person....

Had a look at his profile, he's got 3000 odd followers but only following 300, so I guess he's trying to get more followers, whether for his ego or to steal bikes, who knows!

I'm not, and I've had kudos from Tom Hdz too. I just assumed it was some sort of marketing thing (and my ahwesum KOMz) (none of which were set when he kudosed me.).
So how does one automate kudos giving then? Or are Tom Hdz and his minions just rolling through the whole of Strava manually giving kudos to thousands of people?
Are you people in any clubs? I reckon that's the key - doesn't matter if you're private then, your rides are visible to other club members.

I am, but the rides with kudos are not marked as private anyway.

I get it sometimes. Some supposed pro rider from Brazil or somewhere. Kudos on boring crap rides (most of my rides really).
I get similar on Instagram which are from a number of Surrey related accounts and they seem to randomly 'fave' and then comment how amazing my pics are on a regular basis, even old ones from years ago. Obviously most my stuff is Surrey related based on where I live. I chuckle at some of the 'amazing' comments on a utterly dull picture.
Anyway, mostly automated I bet.
For me the local trails becoming straight lines is much more of a STRAVA problem. 😡
Weirdly, i'm in the STW Forumites group and have not had any... despite the fact i've ridden more Strava miles this week than any before

I just clicked on the link to see if it was one of my pestering followers and it went straight to the app and showed my profile. I then saw if I opened the link in a new tab it was the sicilian fella. Had me going for a minute.... 😆
