just wonderd if any body has any strange phobias as i …….dont laugh
…..dont like horses, cant go near them and when out on the bike have to take a wide birth away from them and if at all possible.. choose a different part of the trail.
think it relates to being bitten as a child by one and the one and only time sat on one being thrown off 😥
there must be others out there that find them a little to large and freaky?

I'm on night shift, 130 miles out in the North Sea.

Hang on, you're starting to look a little pale…

Mrs Grips has a phobia of islands. But not any islands – if they are on the continental shelf, she's fine, but oceanic islands are out because she might fall off. We'll never be able to go to Hawaii for instance. She feels that on the continental shelf she'll be able to touch the bottom – or at least swim to shore.

So she's fine with the Isle of Man, say. She's not a particularly good swimmer mind, nor is she hundreds of feet tall so I think she would still have a problem making it to safety if she fell off the Isle of Man, but there you go 🙂

I've realised over time I'm not particularly good in confined spaces…I mean really tight, wriggly type spaces. I have a stag weekend coming up in a couple of weeks. One of the activities? Yep…f**king caving! I'm dreading it 😳

And embarrassingly, fairground rides. The merry-go-round is about the most extreme I can manage. But waltzers, whirlygigs or jesus help me, an actual roller-coaster. Not on your nelly mate.

Yeah, he's done you there DD (in a cussing match, if a third party decides one's been 'done', then they been done. Simple as that). Sorry, but that's how it goes I'm afraid.

I don't like heights, where I'm on the 'edge' of something like a cliff etc. I'm all right with balconies, but if I can see downwards too vertically, then I start to get didgy. Don't feel comfortable. Stayed in a flat in NY once; ceiling to floor windows. Couldn't go close to the window at all.

Old women licking ice cream from a cone really freaks me. Especialy if it's the soft Mr Whippy type. The way they drag their tongues along and it dribbles on their chin. **** they're discusting.

Fish skeletons. Hate them with a vengeance, ruins my whole day if I find a bone in some fish that I'm eating, and a whole skeleton to deal with is even worse.

I've got a phobia of "out of scale things".

like things that are big, that should be small. Or things that are small that should be big.

    Such as:-

Washing Powder tablets – look exactly the same as Paracetamol – and scare me.
My daughters just got a BIG Hello Kitty cushion. And I'm a bit freaked out by it cos it's like her small Helloy Kitty doll.
Tiny Weetabix – not happy with them.
There were some MASSIVE balls of wool in the shop down the road the other day that made me go all wierd.

It's got to be "accurately" to scale. But it proper freaks me out. Makes me feel like I've shrunk, or I'm a giant or something.

    Don't like at all.
