Hi Rich I expect me and a few friends that took part will be back in April.
For me even though I’d done a bit of bike packing I’d never taken part in an event like this.
It was just really good craic. Was a tough enough route for sure but it took in some really good trails and some great pubs.
Met some great folk. Was knackered after but was one of this years high lights.

Dungeon Ghyll 40 miles in Hawkshead 50 Claife 70!
70 is good distance to aim for on day one as you can chill on day 2

Hawkshead YHA probably about halfway – not too far off route.

Good route that. Even avoids some of my least favourite climbs. I love the extra five miles or so purely to visit the ODG!

It was my fave pint stop last year and there was a few!
1.Brittiania Inn Elterwater
2.ODG
3.some pub in Hawkshead not so good
4.Tower Bank arms Far Sawery for the sleeping blanket 🙂 Superb crowd who were all bivving in the same spot!

Does not compute. In the old days before all this bike packing kit was invented you could just put your kit in a rucksack and ride off. Loads of people managed the polaris with a 30l rucksack. Any old bike will do.

I could be up for this Rich as I really enjoyed this year’s, depends on how I do in the BB200 (or perhaps more accurately – how a certain Mr G perceives how I did in it 😉 )

FS so no space for frame bag, reverb so no to saddle pa K either. Hence the b and b.

Ye can put the hovis tunes off now grandad.

My wife uses a saddle harness with her Reverb so not a deal breaker.
