    Good pics! Nice.
I missed this bit: Someone crashes into Annie at the bottom of the Rock Garden on Lap 2 was it on TV?

Not seen the TV yet, plan to watch it tonight.

They came out better than I expected. The rock garden ones were using a x2 Tele-converter to turn my 70-200 into a 140-400, and I needed all 400mm!

    Great photos.

Cracking photos, was she using tubs?

Boardman said some of them were in the commentary I think.

Did look like a lot of them were on Tubs…

    And for Juan:

Some French bird, who also rode with Annie.

Annie was using Dugast tubulars, but I cannot make out the tread pattern.

Was amazing to see 20,000 spectators for a XC race. When I used to do the NPS, 100 would be a good turn out (and they were all friends and relatives)!

Cracking photos – As ‘ART’ says the t.v coverage was superb too.

I was looking for you, as I thought you’d be at the Rock Garden. We stayed there for laps 3 & 4, then headed off towards the start / finish.

Liam has been on 29er all this year, and I think most of last year, he tested 29er when he went to Giant.

Get there early – 20,000 people and manual bag searches = slow to get in. We were there 2.5 hours before the race. Loads of space once you’re in there and great views from everywhere as it’s in a bowl. You can move about between each lap and catch them at multiple places.

    My photo spots were:
    Deanes drop (lap 1)
    Snake Hill (lap 1)
    Rock Garden (lap 2, 3)
Climb Descent with the stone with “2012” carved in it (laps 4,5)
Start / finish Line (laps 5,6)

You have more laps, so even more opportunity to move about.

Bring sun cream – we got burnt today.

Batty confirmed after the race that she had suffered a fracture in her right clavicle. Her father said she also has a broken rib.

    🙁

She was on a run of form, too. Not good for her.

    Get well soon!
