willier? they are no different from all those other mass produced plastic bikes. if you covered up the massive decals these bikes have you wouldn't be able to tell one plastic bike from another 🙂

i like the black stealth bike up there.

Having had/got a few carbon bikes i'm not sure/know that that is just not true, the day BH manages to make a plastic bike that isn't made out of super noodles i'll eat my plastic hat.

I really want a Pinarello Prince, in that colour too. Still, £3300 for a frame...

I like that picture of your genesis by the way Mark, I sense that few people on here will get the reference...

GaryLake - I just got the frame from R&A in New York mail order and built it up with the group set fgrom my old road bike. I know it is overkill for the winter, but so is the R3SL for me!
The R3 is fantastic and puts a big smile on my face every single time I ride it.

I think there are more than you realise, don't think Dullan logs on here though? Can you imagine the carnage!!!

Old one (now a fixie) sorry its in the wrong gear
[img] [/img]

Newer one, now running some lighter aero wheels & Ultegra C-set
[img] [/img]

OK so the next 2 are not road bikes in the true sense but I did ride one on the road a lot in France this summer & the other I ride to work on the road 😉

Don't have any pics of mine, but it's the same as this with a black Selle San Marco saddle fitted.
I reckon mine's the ugliest so far 🙂

This thread started well with that Cannondale, went rapidly downhill 'til we got to the Pegoretti (but Shimano FFS!), & with one or two exceptions hasn't really recovered.

Are you lot blind? 🙂

oddjob, how long is your seatpost? i had to bin mine it was way too short for me to get the right leg length and still be safe. I don't know what they were thinking when they spec'd a 280 on mine 🙄 my frame is a a 56.

what's the point in having a custom road bike if using campag means you have to roll your hands off the bars to change gear (getting shimano at less than trade has something to do with it too 🙂 ) some people get on with campag, i prefer shimano.

that cinelli is nice but generic off the peg stuff isn't going to stir anyone's loins.

I have the standard seatpost that came with the frame on both the soloist and the R3SL. Both plenty long enough (actually I should check the soloist)
Both frames are 61cm so I guess they allow for us tall people.

No offence to sunchaser but I do fail to see where this thread went overly downhill from there... I can understand if someone opened with a tour standard piece of exotica and then we all posted our normal-to-quite-nice standard of bikes.

lol, I just mean that as lovely as your bike is, it's not like it's a piece of TDF worthy exotica followed by a load of turds which John L seemed to suggest...

I get the impression John L just doesn't like carbon.

Isn't the super six a TDF frame? I thought it was.

3rd bike in was my ally Cervelo, apparently the start of it all going downhill LOL

Edit:

And so was the Soloist...

This thread is crying out for a Bianchi in celeste...

Happy to oblige. 🙂

Not a posh model but equipped with gear that works rather than being flash - Deda, Chorus, etc.

Best, most confidence inspiring road bike i've had and I've had a LOT of nice ones...
