It's a stinking habit.
Banning it is against personal choice though.
However, I do feel sorry for small children sitting in cars with smokers puffing away big style.

Its a free country I swear. In a private space the State can keep its nose out.

Yes, if only so it stops people flicking them out of the window.

No. Next.

smoking near kids should carry the death sentence as thats what you're effectively giving the kids you're filling up with second hand cancer.

should just go all the way and ban fags alltogether
thats unlikely to happen, i think it should be banned if there are kids in the car
seeing as the mobile phone ban is a joke i doubt its worth it tbh

I'm an idiot!
And so is my wife.
Oh no hang on, I jolly well have not got a wife...

Surely the simplest way is to increase the age at which it is legal to own (not just purchase) tobacco products by 1 year every year from now on.
That way existing smokers won't feel discriminated against as they can legally continue with their habit and youngsters won't be able to buy cigs until they're (possibly) old enough to know the damage it does and then not start.
Why won't this work? Possibly because the Govt gets so much money from the tobacco industry in the form of taxation and sponsorship/donations it can't afford for people to not smoke.

I'm not an idiot aany more either
Though if they ban smoking in cars i may start again on general principle
To summarise, as I could rant for hours on this subject:
If I, or anyone else wants to have a fag within the confines of a vehicle I own then its got the sum total of **** all to do with you, you snivelling, whining, holier than thou, sanctimonious little power-crazed ****!!
Any more than its my right to come round to your house and tell you what you're having for your ****ing tea!!!

Smokers aren't idiots but virtually all idiots are smokers.......

Yep should be banned whilst driving, no different to mobiles. Have no issues with passengers smoking in a car though, just helps kill them quicker

First they came for the self harmers, then they came for the smokers. Soon they'll come for the mountain bikers
just apply a polluter pays principle: i.e. only emergency medical care for smokers. Chronic care has to be personally funded either from your house or your insurance. If you cant afford it, tough.

Just so long as the tab ends get retained INSIDE the car for safe disposal at home and aren't thrown out of the window!!!!!

They've banned it in our our company cars...
Mind, I don't smoke anymore, so its no real hardship...

I never actually smoked in the car as its minging. Should I be prevented by law from doing so?
Don't be ****ing ridiculous! Some people in this country need to dislodge their ****ing heads from up their own ****ing arses and realise that:
a) People don't generally want, or need, saving from themselves
b) Nobody made them ****ing God!Posted 6 months ago # -
As kimbers says - We can't enforce the mobile phone ban with any great effect - do we really think that making smoking illegal is going to work?
Edit:
just apply a polluter pays principle
to be fair to the smokers, disgusting habit though it is, I reckon that the argument is quite strong in their favour on that one...

Its a free country I swear. In a private space the State can keep its nose out.The trouble is Mcboo, it is not a free country. Smokers do not have to take the full responsibility for their actions on themselves or on others as the State guarantees that they will be looked after. So doesn't that mean that the state can stick its nose it?
Having said that it would be fairer for people to be totally free to take full responsibility for looking after themselves and to bear the consequences of their actions. But of course that would never happen.

I've just chain-eaten two

I thought smoking while driving was already illegal?
Posted 6 months ago # -
binners, email me and i'll tell you what you're allowed to eat for dinner xx
Posted 6 months ago # -
It's going too far. In a way I'd happily see smoking go as it's a filthy, pointless habit but, basically, binners is right.

Stoner, that's perilously close to arguing for the destruction of the NHS.....
