Rode with somebody the other week who had abnormally hairless arms that matched his legs …. Is this normal in the roady world?

Not normally but yeah when I am gearing up to do a long race – various reasons – i get massaged weekly and its bluddy sore with hairy legs and also on v long expedition races (6+days non stop)i’ll end up using a lot of tape normally inc duct tape and it’s much easier to get off shaved legs. I apply trimmage to other areas where required for aesthetic reasons. Then i let it all grow back.

I think hair’s there to tell you where the fun is (apart from armpits, unless you like a bit o’ pit).

If you must, maybe blend the groin/thigh area with either a fade, lightning bolts or an intricate lacework pattern? Or spend your time money and effort on something more constructive 😆 unless of course you have serious competition to consider…then prune ahead!

I tried that Veet hair removal cream once. Living in my 1st ever flat, got a job interview and didn’t own an iron for my shirt, so went round my parent’s house to borrow theirs.

Whilst there, I glanced in the mirror and thought, “I could do with a shave”. Sadly, my stepdad has a beard and wee brother was too young to shave. I did find a bottle of my mum’s Veet though. Followed the instructions to the letter, liberally applied it all over my face, sat back and waited for it to do its stuff, glibly wondering why all blokes didn’t use this stuff.

I know now – bright red, very itchy face and throat, the odd bald patch in my stubble. Panicking, I reapplied the cream with an eye on the clock, which obviously just made things much, much worse.

Didn’t get the job 🙁

Lol – I have wondered why everyone didn’t just use those creams (rather than wax/shave), I figured it was either cost or they give you a rash

I shave my legs and have done for years, since I started (slightly seriously) racing triathlon and road racing.

I’ve seen people told off by race organisers for sporting hairy legs. I suppose it’s their responsibility to minimise all aspects of risk, and shaven legs make far less mess when you pick up a bit of gravel rash…

I can’t imagine being told off for it, but in every possible way, it’s just not cricket!
