An odd question, I just saw the Shetland Islands on the news. Are they made from SIP panels and clad in stained timber, I really liked the shape and proportions.

If they are typical Scotish long houses then this is the way to do it hebrideanhomes These are SIP houses and they are really reasonably priced – opartly to do with the simple shape and design. The website has some pictures of houses all over the Scotish Islands overlooking some stunning bay views etc.

folk have started building them up by alford too and ive seen 1 just down the road from me at falls of feugh they are creeping down to mainland – im fairly sure my dad built an SIP longhouse for a client in a bay looking at orkney unsure if it was clad with wood though

i really like the look of them but upkeep i suspect would make it hard to sell – folk today are use it destroy it replace it by nature rather than make do and mend !
