Before I've done it by bashing the bolt with a mallet, but it doesn't go in very straight. The tools just look like a cylinder with a male thread on the end?

Use a long series socket I do and it works fine .

I just tap it in with a bolt - checking its going in straight.

Socket and an old screwdriver for adjustment if needed. Be patient and use the bolt as a guide if you need to make any adjustments
