RSP Plummet Plummet...
 

[Closed] RSP Plummet Plummeted... Maintenance etc???

My RSP Plummet has come undone from itself, that is the silver bit in the bottom of the post has come unscrewed from the outer, as in this image:

Only had it just over a month, fitted to commute bike so 330+ miles, 40+ rides.

Looks like a bit of water has got in. Guessing I should just clean and re-grease and screw it back together?

Still can't find any service manuals or anything, might try emailing Raleigh.

Yeah, just screw it back in. It adjusts the spring that bit. As far as servicing goes, just take it apart, grease it up and reassemble. It's a pretty simple design.

As determined by how far I do it up into the post? Goes in quite a way.

Definitely feels like it will rattle loose again. Will probably put some medium thread lock on.

Assuming I should screw the silver shaft all the way into the uppy-downy-post bit (not shown in pic) before screwing that lumpy threaded end bit in.

Actually on second thoughts, that's different to the one we had, so I'm probably talking shite.
