Noticed the rear wheel in my new Scott CR1 was sitting a bit off centre between the chain stays so checked the replaceable dropout just in case it was a bad fit. No problems there, it sits flush with the frame dropout, so it must be the frame. It's prob 3-4mm out to the left at the rim. Tried another wheel too but still wonky.
Not had this before so should it be taken back for the shop to check out?

Wheel turned round; does it still do the same?
Plus, does it have any effect on the ride?

I'd be tempted to fit some larger tyres before taking it back to the shop. Ideally, one side would rub on the stays. Their first suggestion would probably be that the dish is out. At that point, take the wheel out and refit with the cassette on the wrong side to make your point. Then stand back in silence and see what they come up with. Resist the temptation to speak!

No effect on the ride. I'll try turning the wheel round.

Is the wheel 4mm out on the chainstay and seatstays too or just the chainstay?

I'd take it back, they can try it with another wheel and I can't see there'd be a problem with changing it if it's brand new. I had this with a Giant MTB frame- it wasn't noticeable when riding but it bugged me and for a lot of money you want it to be right.

Soup, I didn't check it at the seat stays, I'll have a look.
