Whats the latest recomendation for these?
Im looking for something not too aero, more general use.
Budget? Clinchers/tubular? Tough/light? I'd probably get Farsports 38x23.
I've got some of these on the way. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281304745677?nav=WATCHING_ACTIVE&skus=Cassette%20Body:Shimano9/10/11&varId=580346012274
should be fine as a budget all round wheel.
I'd also go FarSports, although I'd get these. Slightly narrower, but a chunk lighter.
Sorry for the hijack wilburt, but what are the FarSport builds like? I can't build wheels and I'm not about to learn on carbon rims.
My 38mm farsports are running great after 3000 miles use on pretty shitty roads.. Replaced rear bearings(£12) after bit of play developed.. Otherwise spot on I'd have another set in a heart beat ..
What's the braking like? My aluminium rims were shocking in the biblical rain last night, had a few reminders of using carbon wheels a few years back!
Hijack away..no problem.
The 38mm look to be about £370 including postage which is about the same as some shimano c81s.
Any idea what of delivery time and as above is braking improved with these latest versions?
Thanks
I use swiss stop black prince pads and these are my first carbon wheels with carbon braking surface.. The horror stories I'd heard had put me off for a while and my first wet test last year in biblical rain I got a fright !!! The braking is actually really good in the wet(after the split second of nothing happening) till rim clears of water and the pads start to bite..
Once I got used to the slight delayed reaction all good 🙂
I find the braking in the dry sharper than an alloy rim ..
None in stock when I ordered I waited around 3 weeks.. Good comms and they sent me pics of built wheels before despatch 🙂
