having spent four of the previous five nights on the river bank blowing away like crazy at my mates little “UFO” grill i want a decent portable grill.

i have a BOB trailer, so it can be a decent size, but must be easy to fill, light and have enough grill space.

It’s currently showing out of stock but this is excellent if you can track one down: http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Move-It-BBQ/Pr348804000

lots of space, shape makes it easy to cook off the heat and I’ve done joints in it no problems.

I wrote a slightly longer review here: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/so-which-barbecue-then/page/2#post-5054271

The Weber Go Anywhere listed above is now discontinued in the EU sadly, it’s very similar to the Clas Ohlson one I just posted.

Son of Hibatchi – well made and it heats up very quickly.

For a more minimalist option, I’ve had one similar to this (but without the stand) for years which I bought in B&Q for about a tenner in the sale. Still going strong. Folds down to about the size of an A4 folder and doesn’t weigh much.

There are some really good cheap ones in Asda I got one that folds up into a box for £10, not massively robust but at that price who cares

For starting I’d always recommend a chimney starter, around £15 from B’n’Q

Go outdoors do have lots of options. I have the stainless folding square one that packs down into a little flat bag. Fantastic BBQ. Great for camping

£15 for a chimney starter?! BigButSlimmerBloke, you’ve been had mate.

Picked one up in tesco the other week for the princely sum of £2.50!
Works like a charm too, +1 for using them. But I do question the portability of one as well as a BBQ

Probably a bit small for your needs but I can’t rate these Cobb BBQs high enough:
