I need a 16″ frame for my daughter, but wondering if I could build one of these up with her 26″ gear without it riding horribly? Bit of a big investment otherwise.

In a lot of ways, that actually makes a lot of sense.
With 26in kit, the BB will end up 15mm lower or so.

That’s 11mm from the wheels, and 1/3rd of the 10mm or so fork difference.
