Sweaty palms already ๐ฏ
Just put it on, cheers.
Point Blank on BBC4
Watching now, but don't know how long for! (#gulp)
Managed 2 minutes before MrsMomo decided that she couldn't watch it, admittedly, she is trying to get some marking done!
He's striking me as being a bit of a dick.
Peers through fingers from behind the couch like I did watching Dr Who in the 70s.
When are they bringing on the old guys?
Oh.....
He's striking me as being a bit of a dick.
Not watching it, will catch it tomorrow on watch again, but I imagine to be able to do the things they do you have to be very confident in yourself. That sometimes can manifest itself in dickishness, or at least the appearance thereof.
...but like I say, not watching it so he might be reet.
Seems like a fairly normal lad to be fair, just enjoys climbing stuff.
Feeling like I'm gonna boff but can't stop watching it.
He's striking me as being a bit of a dick.
I'm not watching it for his personality.
I don't think he's come across as a dick at all, so far. Those idiots shouting "You'll fall off tomorrow" came across as dicks, though.
Heights don't scare me, but only lasted a few minutes, I had to turn it off as started feeling nauseas ! ๐ฏ
The bottom of my feet spasm when the money shots are on the screen.
Yep lasted 10mins.
He needs a good slap.
I take it back. I feel sorry for him mum though.
Edit. Nah... he's a dick.
Anybody else getting sweaty palms watching this.?
And the person who might have to "sweep him up" if he ever does get it wrong........
Anybody else getting sweaty palms watching this.?
No, but a few involuntary retractions on my dangly bits ๐ฏ
I take it back. I feel sorry for him mum though.
Yeah, I do too.
His mother needs to give him good hiding! Stop spoiling him.
Get a job and grow up.
I guess she's bankrolling him though. He doesn't appear to have a job. I could be wrong though.
I do think that physiologists will have a name for his 'condition' though
Seems like a fairly normal lad to be fair, just enjoys climbing stuff.
He was a school refuser. That's not normal for a start.
Context is everything. Millions of people do harder things that carry equal or greater consequence everyday. This gets people going because its a bit naughty.
Meh.
He definitely seems like a dick. His mum has let him get away with murder by the seems of it. Wonder how he pays for all these trips? Seems like mummy has got s nice big house...
I wonder how it's different from this:
Alex Honnold
He seems like a person with low self esteem who just needs a bit of attention, pity his mum has to suffer for it though.
What a cock! Spoilt little trustafarian. Love his face on getting to Kiev
You're not in Kansas any more Dorothy

Rubbish!! Very few people do things where one mistake equals certain death. Millions may do activities where one mistake may carry a high probability of death if something goes wrong, such as driving on the motorway, but that is not certain death.
Yeah ok, I posted that before the school refuser bit.
But then what is normal?
I guess this isn't too dissimilar to those wing suit proximity fliers, I think I'd rather climb a crane!
Psychology 101 on here...

Might be good to analyse the activity instead of the personality.

Lift your gaze beyond the m25. The world is a big place chock full of actual consequence.

So how does that make you feel, and please tell me about your mother...*
*Yes I know that's psychoanalysis, but I got to shoehorn a joke in somehow, godammit!
Jamie, I note that you said "horn" in that sentence....very freudian
It strikes me as the biggest risk is simply getting "sucked in" by other people who don't actually have the same adversity to risk. The Uk guy actually seems pretty sensible, but you can imagine how peer pressure could, and i imagine does, lead to falls. It's no different to doing a bigger drop or jump than you know you are capable of, it's just the penalty is much higher..

Oh, believe me, it's lifted, I was just using an everyday example. It may be full of consequence, but very rarely does it result in certain death: There is usually another safety system to go through before death is certain.
Free climbing, yes, but then again, isn't that all this lad is doing? And that is deemed fairly respectable.
He is a total dick - absolutely no idea of his actions or the consequences of them.
The aftermath of his ****ing about on the crane in Southampton caused a total shut down of the site.
Took 4 days before we were back to work.
Considering most of what we do makes his playing look tame - it won't be long before someone like us has to either get him or his cadaver down from somewhere......

I note that you noted, which is quite noteworthy.
*makes a note*

...and here is the thing. I remember Hammy's post on the last thread, and it does bring the idea of how selfish, whether knowing or otherwise, these kind of actions are. Not sure how they could do these type of things, without somehow creating the risk of completely *ing up someone else's day.
Hammy why did it cause a shutdown for 4 days that is just illogical, from what I saw he was down within minutes and didn't spend 4 days up there?
I bet this lad takes less risks than some weekend warriors do on their bikes.

I imagine they had to have a H&S inspection, increase security etc?
health and safety shut down? Dunno just guessing
Edit: what Jamie said ๐
