Had 'my' S1 delivered today...top is quite long at 23" for a 17.5" frame but chain stays are normal length (did someone post that they were an odd size)
Quite heavy and the finish is reasonable...welding is a bit bubble-gum (is that due to the frame material) and stickers over paint with no clear coat mark it down. I would have been seriously disappointed if I paid £750

Never understood why people bang on about stickers under clearcoat/varnish being better than stickers on top.
When stickers under clear coat get damaged, they're a pain in the arse to remove/replace.
Are those Curtis' really the UK made ones, or their Taiwanese range. Doesn't matter either way, but I was always under the impression their UK frames were made to order one at a time, so was surprised to see so many on CRC.

I think they must be the far-east ones. I also thought that the UK ones were 'one a day, built to order, customer's specification' jobs.

exactly. My Dialled Alpine (and previously a SC Nomad) looks like new after a sticker kit, not sure how I'd have tidily removed old and fitted new with a clearcoat in the way. I treat stickers as sacrificial barriers.

For me it's a sign of quality detail...every top-end steel frame I have owned has had a quality paintjob with lacquered over decals, not stickers just slapped on. Just my opinion
Plenty of stickers on the frame saying Handmade in the UK and presumably that's refering to more than just the tubing which I thought was only produced in the UK

IIRC Curtis made a batch of 'standard geometry' versions of their custom frames for CRC. I think that just the little 4X 24" wheel frames were made in Taiwan.

Already have a Cotic Soul.
It was an impulse buy when they dropped them to this silly low price.
So over the couple of days it took to arrive I've had a hard think about it and I'm keeping my Soul.
Thats about the long and short of it really.
Looks nice with nice brazing. Only took it out of the box to make sure it was OK and now it's back in ready to go.

Well mine arrived (whilst I was in the shower, natch) this morning.
Initial impressions are that the paint finish is good, weight 'about what I expected' and the joints all look lovely. Plastic sleeve for the seatpost I'm not sure about - at least it'll avoid a stuck seatpost, I guess.
The disk hose guides look a bit 'you'll have your kneecap off with that' - am I supposed to bend them over the hose once it's fitted?
