What brand(s) of bike do you own? Pick all that apply

"Maximum number of choice allow: 3"

Really? Only 3? ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Chipps says you can only have three favourites.

but But BUT this is STW, where n+1 for number of bike you should own is (or should be) in the rulz! ๐Ÿ˜‰

... and anyways all my bikes are special to me! If Chipps heart isn't big enough to love all his bike, why are we penalized?

No Scott, Surly or Salsa? That's just the 'S's. Going to be a winner for 'Other'

Was about to say no Scott.
Best if my selection of "Other" is interpreted 3 times ๐Ÿ˜‰

My 3 favourite brands aren't listed.

*feels very niche*

Should we just keep voting in batches of 3 until we get them all in?

at the moment Orange is the top scoring named manufacturer, so good to see STW stereotypes enforced...

Would it have hurt to sort them alphabetically?

Naming all the larger bike brands in the UK was harder than we thought, so we'll add more as we realise who (else) we've missed out. We'll add a few votes in for the missing 'S' brands...

As for only three brands? We had to draw a line somewhere as we'd get too many votes for pub bikes, road bikes and rusty heaps in the back of the shed ๐Ÿ™‚

6 bikes, three brands, all represented apart from 'chinese eBay special' frame.
this is an interesting poll, but then we were due one... ๐Ÿ™‚

Why am I gfetting "Maximum number of allowed choices: 1" when I try to pick the three I actually own then? I know my bikes are all similar, but they're from 3 different brands.

It just told me I could have only 1, sounds like my wife, she's wrong too.

Chipps says you can only have three favourites.

I would have thought Chipps was too busy trying to track down the owner of a '03 plate green Vauxhall, than wasting his time laying down poll rules?

No Jones, Dekerf or Mosaic; so all mine are an 'other.'

Thought Jones would have been an option, there seems to be a few on here ๐Ÿ˜€

Merida and Tomac account for four of my bikes and are also missing. They're more mainstream than some that are there.
Also Dean who I will accept are rather niche.

I clicked "other" and it gave my vote to Ellsworth. I can't afford an Ellsworth...

Oh. Interesting.

I voted Cotic and Other, but I see Cotic and Salsa in bold italics.

(edit: and Scott appeared as an option only after I submitted)

Dialled +1

I'd like a Keewee too but think that's probably a bit much to ask being as they've not made anything for at least 5 years.

Knock at the Dawes?
Would lead to a Revolution.
That would be the Pinnacle.

The only thing remotely niche that I own is a Marin - only 4% of STWers have them. In fact, it's rarer than Turner, Lapierre or Yeti.

Apparently, I own a Salsa.

I don't and never have done (but would like to)

I do own a Gary Fisher and a Dawes, neither or which were on the list when I submitted, and for both of which I chose "Other" which doesn't appear in my list

Sheesh, hope your advertisers are all represented!
Ridgeback
BMC
Merida
On the wish list, not owned by me.

You need to see the daily mail for proper Poll failures - they ask questions can't be answered by the options they offer - and their readers answer anyway

[img] [/img]

[img] [/img]
So to conduct the poll in Daily Mail style would be:

Q What brand(s) of bike do you own?

A Yes / No

and two thirds of us would answer 'Yes' ๐Ÿ™‚

Is my Boardman too niche for Singletrack?
Or is it niche that it's a Boardman that actually gets ridden off road and doesn't live in a garage all the time?

Naming all the larger bike brands in the UK was harder than we thought

This fills me with cheer!

Back in the day, it was boutique USA, or better built Taiwanese, or a few UK framebuilders who were a bit roadie still really.

Good to see UK builders, and UK brands sourcing abroad, getting plenty of attention these days.

Oh, and Orange should be RIGHT up there in my opinion.

No Dialled Bikes or Decathlon, another "other"...

After this poll, we'll run one JUST for those marginalised 'other' folks.

So, if you voted 'other' then make sure the missing brands are listed on this thread and we'll included them in the 'best of the rest/forgotten/bike ghetto' poll and you can fight it out there...

Sort of a ghetto poll, one poll for the normals, and another for us weirdos?

All of us weirdos, yes. ๐Ÿ™‚
There wasn't a box for Seven or Soulcraft either! It's a conspiracy I tell you!
