Hi,

Have folks ordered from Jenson USA? If so did you get stung for import tax?

Cheers

Yup - and yup, sadly. Paul Components Thumbies, last February.

I don't mind the import tax so much; it's the sublime Royal Mail 'handling fee'!

Not for some time, but used to be a regular when excahnge rate was better.

Almost always got stung for tax, FedEx were very cilvilised about it though.

In my experience, always stung with courier delivery, might not get stung with post.

If it's your first order, they may ask for you to email proof od identity (scanned passport or somesuch)

Wait til you're in the US? Or find someone who's going there and can carry it back for you?

Even worse.
The courier they use recently charge the tax at the door + a £10 "handling" charge .
But why are there prices soo much better?
And why can I not buy Patagonia from the USA?
And no I am not setting up an America delivery address and then re-shipped,
Rant rant rant and breathe

But why are there prices soo much better? No Sales Tax (20% VAT) General online clearance stuff so you only find the cheap stuff?
And why can I not buy Patagonia from the USA?Generally distributor arrangements prevent that
And no I am not setting up an America delivery address and then re-shipped,you will still pay tax and fees

Is that the 2011 OEM one? The normal one http://www.jensonusa.com/Rockshox-Reverb-125mm-Seatpost is more expensive than the CRC one when you don't have VAT added (looking from Oz)

Yep, but at 360 quid for some WC sids it was still way worth it came to about 430 with shipping and tax iirc.

Definatly conisder the shipping and tax when oding price comparisons.
