As the Half Jacket’s I bought in the recent bargain oakley thread where a bit small for my face I’ve decided to opt for some Flak Jackets. However, is there a big difference between normal and XLJ models?

I know I should go and try some on, but that’s not possible unfortunately. I do have quite a big noggin.

If you ahve a big head, neither Flaks nor Half are the ideal fit, IMO. Fat better to look at a Jawbone/Split Jacket I would say. Or, failing that, a Radar or M/Pro-M Frame

I think it’s just the lens size and shape that’s different. Used to have a pair of XLJs and a friends std ones seemed to be the same frame wise. The lenses were interchangeable between the two.

IIRC the XLJs have wider lenses, which wrap around more or something?

XLJ lenses offer more vertical eye coverage than standard Flak Jacket lenses

My half jackets are XLJ, as I have a wide face.

I did try a pair of flak jackets on, and they seemed to fit much better than the halfs.

Guess I need to find somewhere to try them all on.

    Cheers

I’ve got a big head, 60cm or so, and my prescription XLJs fit a treat.
