The distributors in Yorkshire (Leeds seller) is -

Jungle - Importer for the UK
    Unit 3 The Cedar
    New York Mills
    Summerbridge, North Yorkshire HG3 4LA
    44 (0) 1132 251111
    ian@jungleproducts.co.uk
    http://www.jungleproducts.co.uk

Are they aware of a batch that's been stolen?

Perhaps Email to Crimestoppers via http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/default.asp?sID=1190640794204

I'll do this if I have time at work tomorrow.

    All the best.

    ibis,

Well it might well be connected then! How do you know this?

    All the best.

How about everyone bombard him with questions...i.e. why are you selling? Can you clarify the size again? How did the "minor chips" occur? etc etc

    Posted 2 years ago #
  10. deluded - Member

    cxi,

Thanks, right that does it for me I'll be on to Jungle and West Yorks police in the morning. They need to ascertain the sellers address and spin his drum.

Please nobody contact the seller asking him questions about this frame. If it is stolen it may spook him and frustrate police efforts to make arrests and recover the property.

    All the best.

Another one being sold without a shock.

Minor chips from being tossed around in the getaway van?

    Posted 2 years ago #
  12. ibis - Member

    True,
don't know if we should be concerned except
I would fell pretty p**sed if someone stole my stuff,
    it's just wrong.

    "how old is it?"
    "it's not old"

Seller is "open to offers for quick collection"... Yea, I bet!!

This HAS to be from the Jungle break in... I wouldn't be shocked to see some nice SC frames turning up next!

These two really do look like the 'most obviously stolen' of any of these threads I have seen. Hopefully I am wrong.

what is the seller doing with the 'shockers'?

ther'll be a big orange santa cruz on there next

  17. deluded - Member

I set an Email to Jungle last night highlighting our concerns that the frames are from the break to the warehouse back in August.

This morning I spoke with Ian at Siff/Jungle and he is going to take the matter up with his bosses who will presumably get on the blower soon to the local cops, but that's a matter for them on how they wish to proceed.

    Good spot to Ibis.

    All the best.

Some of the feedback looks dodgy too.

2 different user names with '2009' in their name, one of whom writes 'thank you' without the space just as our man does.

Or am I reading too much into that

    Posted 2 years ago #
  19. numplumz - Member

sickens me to see bids on an obvious dodgy sale, bidders obviously know what they are buying and why they are cheap.

    contact made with seller!!!

I wonder if the distributor who had the break in might not be overly keen to get them back. He's prolly claimed on his insurance by now and might not want all the chipped, shockless bikes back?! Just opening my head and letting stuff dribble out.....

£5 says the old bill wont do anything (if reported to them)

Handing stolen goods if u buy one and the old bill follow it up.
They can get your name and address from stealbay.

£5 says the old bill wont do anything (if reported to them)

Look at it from their POV

Someone rings them & says that they've seen a stolen bike on ebay

Plod "Have you really sir" "is it yours"

    Joe "No"

Plod "OK how do you know it's stolen"

Joe "Well, it's very cheap, he can't spell & he lives in a dodgy part of town, there was also some similar bikes stolen from someone else I don't know who lives close by & anyway, everyone on the internet said so"

Plod "OK we'll look into it"

    Posted 2 years ago #
  26. muddydwarf - Member

Well the bidding has ended on the frame, so either it's been sold or he's been spooked and pulled it.
I suppose it's too much to hope that his collar has been gripped?

  27. TandemJeremy - Member

plod have acted on similar things in the past according to threads on here.

    easygirl,

Has this new information been reported to the police by Jungle?

What efforts have been made with the locals. Do you know the reason for their disinterest?

I'm a DC in Avon and Somerset and reported this to Ian @ Jungle this morning.

    All the best.

maybe because Leeds is in West Yorkshire?

    just a thought

i tried really hard today with this one, so did yorks cid, but it came to nothing

    Posted 2 years ago #
  36. easygirl - Member

yep sorry, the crime was west yorks, and the frame was in north yorks, my heads a shed !

Jungle is based in North Yorkshire, Leeds is West Yorkshire.

So i imagine that NYP are dealing with it as that is where the incident occurred?

    Posted 2 years ago #
  38. deluded - Member

    easygirl,

Your post is confused. If you can't discuss here perhaps (if you have time) you could email me (address in profile).

Am I right in this - The crime is a North Yorks job as it occurred on their patch (Summerbridge) and therefore their responsibility to investigate, however they need co-operation from West Yorks as the possible offender might live across the border in their area (Leeds)?

    All the best.

West yorkshire police are mostly a waste of space. Though their local PCSO in Rothwell is really good.

    Posted 2 years ago #
  40. easygirl - Member

    deluded,
cant really get into the politics, but had a conversation with cid over that end who had started the investigation , then it came to a dead end, not the police fault!
    cant really comment any further
was thinking of going over myself in the morning and locking him up, then handing him over to them!!!!
