Been here twice, very different occasions (one a big group, the other more intimate), both times truly exceptional. Love it.
    The Cellar, Anstruther.

If you canne get in there, then get a fish supper from the Anstruther Fish Bar down the high street, and eat it sat on the pavement with a nice bottle of fizz (champagne or Irn Bru, your choice!).

If you wanted to go a little further I can really recommend this place:

    http://mhor.net/mhor/

One of the finest meals I have ever eaten.
About and hour and a half from Dundee
Also only 12 rooms, so never too busy, But £292 for dinner bed and breakfast though!!!

Within 60 miles?!??! Awesome. Sheriffmuir Inn, near Dunblane. Awesome (although the folk can be a little crazy until you know them!). Or Wilawan Thai restaurant in Stirling. Sorry, don’t know Dundee but you did say 60 miles!

Is the Peat Inn actually any good now? I know it used to have a great reputation, but is it still justified?

    Hi Chris,

I have been to Forbes of Kingennie a few times including last Valentines day, it was superb, good food, nice setting, no rush to get you sat down, served and oot the door, nice and quiet aswell.

    See you soon,

    Mike.
