Anyone know shimanos release habits? Is it regular?
We’ve had new XTR so am I correct in assuming that XT is likely next?
I’m hoping for a single ring XT chainset ideally (I’d love a hope one but ££££££££)

Should be in the shop Setember – October would be my guess.

Shimano is usually very regular. XT was released 2012, 2008, 2004, so new XT should be 2016, which in reality means June 2015 onward

    afaik
    XTR was 2015, 2011, 2007, 2003?
    SLX was 2013, 2009
    LX mtn* was 2005, 2001?
    Deore was 2014, 2010, 2006, 2002?

*as in the pre SLX groupo, not the current touring groupo

There was a press briefing for Shimano 2016 last week so hopefully things will start to leak soon.

Too late. Bought a double instead.

james – I always thought this too, but on previous threads njee has said it aint so. I never verified either way. I have a feeling that 10sp XT/SLX arrived simultaneously, but perhaps they didn’t see that as a whole groupset launch.

James’ numbers are spot on. First glimpse of new SLX was March 13, current XT was around April of the year before, so you can expect something in the next 3 months, with availability in July/August.

Road stuff also seems to be settling into this pattern, but Shimano are doing lots of mid life updates in each groupset. M980, M985, M988, M987 brakesets for XTR, DA7900, 7970 for the introduction of DI2 etc…
