I am really hoping this is good. After the last series I fear it will not be but I would LOVE it to be as good as the first 4 series.

Ah those were the days, a few beers in the Moss in Altrincham, take away from the Shere Khan, and Red Dwarf all night.

Favourite ever episode - Despair Squid. Esp Timothy Spall to Rimmer (brummie accent) "You didn't find the micro dot in the "i" of the swimming certificate so you've been playing the crap version of Rimmer all this time - that's a classic that" !!!

Favourite ever episode - Despair Squid

That would be "Back to Reality." I think my favourite is either Polymorph or White Hole.

So, what is it?

adyp, Back to Reality that was, featuring the legendary Dwayne Dibley.

I liked the Gun Men of the Apocalypse episode, series 6 I think which, scarily, was originally broadcast in 1993.

Oh yes, White hole. "she's topped it! It's a felt-ripper! That planet is off the table and into someone's pint".

low expectations of remakes/ spin offs and based on the last mini-series, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised

Cougar & Lunge

I hang my head in shame, of course it was! But it is the one with the despair squid though isn't it and the wreck of the Esperanto? I need to dig my dvds out. Better still i need to actually buy a NAS drive then rip them all so I can watch them immediately....if not sooner!

a white hole?

so what is it?

only joking. ๐Ÿ˜†

Loved Red Dwarf, series 2,3 4 & 5 were best, fave episode was 'Better than life'
"Please rush me my portable walrus polishing kit! Four super brushes for cleaning even the trickiest of sea-bound mammals! Yes, I am over 18, although my IQ isn't."

From Psirens:

The Cat - There's an old cat proverb that goes, "It's better to live one hour as a tiger than an entire lifetime as a worm."

Rimmer - There's an old human proverb - "Whoever heard of a worm-skin rug?"

Awesome!!!! New this was on the horizon but didn't realize it was tonight! Trailers looked good - hopefully they've gone back to the old formula as the last couple of series & "Back to Earth" were poor.

I was at a friend's at the weekend, and the pilot episode was airing.

I got ejected from the room for reciting the entire script.

Series 6 was the best with Legion followed by Gunmen of the Apocalypse

You hear that?

And do you know why?

I dont care how crap it is, ill just watch it for Krytens comedy quotes...

How can I concentrate on a phasing comet when as soon as i turn my back the salad cream's getting warm?

An excellent and inventive suggestion, sir, with just two tiny drawbacks: a) We don't have any jet-powered rocket pants; and b) there's no such thing as jet-powered rocket pants outside the fictional serial "Robbie Rocket Pants

Rimmer : Step up to Red Alert!
Kryten : Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.

Rimmer: "Erm, I think we're losing sight of the real issue here, which is 'What are we gonna call ourselves?' Erm, and I think it comes down to a choice between 'The League Against Salivating Monsters' or my own personal preference, which is 'The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society'. Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is 'CLITORIS'."

Can't get Dave here in the sticks, only get council tele, but sounds like I didn't miss much.

My favoritest episode ever is "Queeg".

canned laughter

Always has been. That's right for Red Dwarf

I loved it. They've not messed with it, or tried to make it 'better'. Spot on. Some good one liners and a fair few laughs. 10/10 from me ๐Ÿ™‚
