Didn't realise this was happening! ๐
Nice one. Worth sky+ing for nostalgia if nothing else!
Seen the trailer...
How old do they look now ๐
I am really hoping this is good. After the last series I fear it will not be but I would LOVE it to be as good as the first 4 series.
Everything I've read has sounded very promising. I've got the smeghammer on standby just in case.
Cant be any worse than the last time they came back on Dave. Just horrible.
Ah those were the days, a few beers in the Moss in Altrincham, take away from the Shere Khan, and Red Dwarf all night.
Favourite ever episode - Despair Squid. Esp Timothy Spall to Rimmer (brummie accent) "You didn't find the micro dot in the "i" of the swimming certificate so you've been playing the crap version of Rimmer all this time - that's a classic that" !!!
What time????
Favourite ever episode - Despair Squid
That would be "Back to Reality." I think my favourite is either Polymorph or White Hole.
So, what is it?
What time????
9pm. As per tradition, IIRC.

adyp, Back to Reality that was, featuring the legendary Dwayne Dibley.
I liked the Gun Men of the Apocalypse episode, series 6 I think which, scarily, was originally broadcast in 1993.
Spall isn't a brummie don't you watch top gear?
Oh yes, White hole. "she's topped it! It's a felt-ripper! That planet is off the table and into someone's pint".
Schweet. Im in. I watched a hologram spaceship episode recently on the off chance and it got me 'click'! 'On this ship its considered rude not to have sex at least twice a day with anyone who asks you'. ๐
low expectations of remakes/ spin offs and based on the last mini-series, so hoping to be pleasantly surprised
Cougar & Lunge
I hang my head in shame, of course it was! But it is the one with the despair squid though isn't it and the wreck of the Esperanto? I need to dig my dvds out. Better still i need to actually buy a NAS drive then rip them all so I can watch them immediately....if not sooner!
Oh yes, White hole. "she's topped it! It's a felt-ripper! That planet is off the table and into someone's pint".
Played for and GOT!
a white hole?
so what is it?
only joking. ๐
Loved Red Dwarf, series 2,3 4 & 5 were best, fave episode was 'Better than life'
"Please rush me my portable walrus polishing kit! Four super brushes for cleaning even the trickiest of sea-bound mammals! Yes, I am over 18, although my IQ isn't."
From Psirens:
The Cat - There's an old cat proverb that goes, "It's better to live one hour as a tiger than an entire lifetime as a worm."
Rimmer - There's an old human proverb - "Whoever heard of a worm-skin rug?"
Awesome!!!! New this was on the horizon but didn't realize it was tonight! Trailers looked good - hopefully they've gone back to the old formula as the last couple of series & "Back to Earth" were poor.

Classic stuff.
"Sir, wait - I can't hear anything."

Had me ROFL-ing for hours that, don't know why.

No. Friggin. Way.
Favourite of mine...I'm gonna go with Meltdown.
Polymorph and Backwards (??? They go to Nodnol...)
I was at a friend's at the weekend, and the pilot episode was airing.
I got ejected from the room for reciting the entire script.
</geek>
Series 6 was the best with Legion followed by Gunmen of the Apocalypse

"Sir, wait - I can't hear anything.""Why's that Kryten?"
"Well Sir, that's because thier are nooooooooo sounds..."
Listen?
What?
You hear that?
No.
And do you know why?
<shakes head>
Because there are no sounds to hear...
I dont care how crap it is, ill just watch it for Krytens comedy quotes...
How can I concentrate on a phasing comet when as soon as i turn my back the salad cream's getting warm?
An excellent and inventive suggestion, sir, with just two tiny drawbacks: a) We don't have any jet-powered rocket pants; and b) there's no such thing as jet-powered rocket pants outside the fictional serial "Robbie Rocket Pants
Rimmer : Step up to Red Alert!
Kryten : Sir, are you absolutely sure? It does mean changing the bulb.
Rimmer: "Erm, I think we're losing sight of the real issue here, which is 'What are we gonna call ourselves?' Erm, and I think it comes down to a choice between 'The League Against Salivating Monsters' or my own personal preference, which is 'The Committee for the Liberation and Integration of Terrifying Organisms and their Rehabilitation Into Society'. Erm, one drawback with that - the abbreviation is 'CLITORIS'."
i am quite excited by it all.
Bump...as a reminder as it starts in 5 mins ๐
Oh dear although not as cringey as back to earth
I think its ok. not cramped enough though.

Canned laughter ๐
Can't get Dave here in the sticks, only get council tele, but sounds like I didn't miss much.
My favoritest episode ever is "Queeg".
I thought that was alright tbh
a bit 'meh'
Squid of Despair for me. "Dwayne Dibley?!?!?!?"
10/10 for me ๐ True to it's roots.
Well, I laughed. That doesn't happen much these days with telly. ๐
canned laughter
Always has been. That's right for Red Dwarf
I loved it. They've not messed with it, or tried to make it 'better'. Spot on. Some good one liners and a fair few laughs. 10/10 from me ๐
Made me laugh ๐
