I’m in the market for a new desktop PC. The main criteria is that it needs to be have ample processing power for video editing which my son is getting into.
I’m thinking 16GB RAM, quad-core processor. Decent video card. Decent screen.

Budget around £1000 but would like to come in less. It’s a home machine, not a professional setup.

Who’s the go-to company these days? I’ve used Dell in the past and been happy but things move on.

Any fleshing out of the spec. and recommendations would be gratefully received.

    Thanks!

    Rich.

I think you know what you need, really, you described it above.

Intel Quad/Hex core. A modern GPU might give you a boost in Adobe software. SSD [256+ or it’ll be tight] and you have the rest figured out I think.

    Try pcspecialist.

EDIT: They do OC systems with warranty. More bang for the buck, perhaps.

    Another vote for PC specialist.

I just tried to spec up a minimal i5 system (mobo, CPU and RAM) from parts against one of theirs, couldn’t touch it on price. Heard lots of good things about them from other who have used them.
