Not really I just treated my Dawes Galaxy touring to a service after 2,000 plus commuting miles.

I bought her off eBay as a doer upper but other replacing a perished tube I have had trouble free service. For a reward she has had full service, New chain, sprocket, brake blocks, inner and outer cables, Brookes bar tape and sks Mudguards. The paintwork is unmarked so she feels, looks and runs like new.

I appreciate a Galaxy won't appeal to many on here but I love her. We are going on a little holiday together in the netherlands in may to experience the wonderful cycling infrastructure. I could take the Arkose but I think the Dawes will be more suitable.

Nice shade of grey on the garage doors, I wouldn't have painted the hinges though.

Thanks. They were a very shiny zinc finish so I was told they had to be toned down.

No comment for my lovely Tourer?

Owe and I forgot to say a big thanks to Pilgrim cycles in Westhumble for the fantastic job And great customer service.

Lovely bike, will be great in the Netherlands. I had the same model a few years back (albeit with downtube shifters) but finally conceded that it was a size too big (it was a part-ex) so sadly moved it on. Was not expecting to be so gutted, it really was rather well-equipped and just so ... rideable. Same kind of ride I got from a British Eagle Touristique (531ST). Never should have let THAT go. Old tourers seem never to die, you just regret selling them.
