I have recently bought a new road bike and decided that a double was beeter than a triple. After 5 rides I have decided that I am not happy with the 39/52 front and 12/25 rear as going up hills is making me nearly stop.

Does anyone know if I can simply buy a 34t chainring that comes on the compact 105 double?

    Thanks

No, it will be a different BCD. You need new cranks.

Any other thoughts on how to make my ride a little easier?

It’d be easier to change to a 12-27 cassette

I think 39/27 will be lower than 34/25

At the risk of sounding like a bell end. HTFU.

38 I think will be the minimum you’ll get on there, but a good 38t ring can be very expensive.
Other option is a 27 cassette, you’ll lose the close ratio a bit, but the 2 teeth will help a lot on hills.

If youre not fussy a Sora compact is almost as cheap as new rings.
