I will be selling most of them to people with experience of keeping tarantulas.
Now some questions, how come dad survived the conjugal bed?
Does Mum do any kind of nurturing or is it every sling for themselves?
How long does it take the little fellahs to grow from eggs with legs to the last photo?
These are a very communal spp of spider. They live together quite well, even to the point of looking after each other, so don’t tend to fight.
I did intend on leaving mum with them. She was looking after the egg sack well. They carry and move it arround to adjust temperature and humidity. They also rotate it to reduce any chances of mould forming and destroying the eggs.
I put the eggs with legs in an incubator Wed night as the mother was acting a little odd and had stopped care. There was a chance she would eat them so I took them out. Since then they have become 1st instar stage. They should moult again by the end of the week when I will hopefully be able to re-home them and start feeding. So far I’ve had no losses.
They should all be happy living together as they grow, as long as they have enough food.
