Just listening to this Big Country Doccowhich absolutely 100% makes me shiver. Local band when i grew up, saw them so many times, played a concert with Stuart + Bruce when i was in 5th yr at school (I was drummer but nothing like Mark). Still to this day love The Crossing. Brings back so many memories and music that was proper music. Some people will hate it. Whats yours ?

Tiny Dancer by Elton John… If my wife puts that on in the car I know that there is 70 minutes of more shite to follow.

Proper answer – Swamp Thing by The Chameleons. It was the soundtrack to my youth.

    Bagpipes.

Music to kill by, music to dance to, and a good lament, music to cry to.

Yes, I'm off to see them. I'm completely dubious about it. Green Day, to me, are 1,039 smooth, Kerplunk, Dookie, and Insomniac. After that, well…

My shiver song is AVAIL – Blue Ridge. It reminds of them playing it live in '98, with a massive breakdown in the middle where Tim just goes to town on this drum and beats the **** out of the thing. And it all happened at the Duchess in Leeds. I guess you had to be there.

I think it's the progressive build up in both tracks which finally unleashes something for me. I notice both tracks are around 10 mins long, but are very different styles of music!. Wonder if there's something in the length.

Quite a few old rave tunes do it for me… Renegade Soundwaves "The Phantom" is always a winner… but then I am quite old!

    James Blake.

And against my will – Eric Clapton's Tears in Heaven. Can't stand his voice, but a guitarist played a classical version at my wedding and it makes me go all gooey.

Bizarrely, some of Moby's early stuff…!

Agree with Wide Open Space by Mansun too.

Let's Dance by David Bowie too – random.

And finally Skin Deep by the Stranglers.

Yes that makes me shiver too. For all the wrong reasons. The most over-rated album ever IMO.

Strangely, The Navy Hymn – can't hear it without goosebumps / tears. Stirring stuff anyway, without strong personal memories.

Ahh I see – I missed that connection. Doh.

I meant because my dad asked for it to be played at his funeral so every time I hear it now it reminds me of him and the day 🙁
