I remember reading somewhere that the travel of the forks can be changed from 160mm to 140mm. Is this correct?
Anyone know of a guide to do this.
I have changed travel in RS forks before so can do it just would like to know the way to do it.
Cheers
Yep, as above. You'll already have the spacer though if you have 55Rs - at 160mm travel it sits on top of the main spring (A). To reduce the travel just move the spacer to the position in the diagram above.
i haven't got a diagram on my screen, just a stupid icon and i can't click on it!!!
Is there an instruction site that tells you how to do it? I assume the forks have to be stripped completely.

30 min job. Remove top caps one at a time and drain oil (save it for re-use) - damping cartridge will pop up on left side. Remove plastic spacer and coil spring from right side. Undo footnuts and remove sliders. Remove circlip from bottom of right stanchion, pull out the pumping rod and add spacer which you removed from the top of the coil spring (part no 85, as shown in the ridemonkey.com link above). Replace pumping rod and circlip, refit sliders (carefully) and tighten footnuts. Replace oil and fit coil spring and top caps - job done. Hope that helps/makes sense.
Apologies for the edits - don't know my left from my right ๐ณ
