seem to be the only fella with a man bag. Am I ought of touch with current trends. Village boy at heart you see.

Man bags should be ballistic nylon tactical jobbies, so you can pretend you are SAS.
Or of the record bag variety for superstar DJ fantasies.

    But never, never, ever, leather.
    Or people will talk,

Oops leather jobbie, no wonder people are looking, probably think I’m with my sister and niece, not wife and daughter. But it is so comfy.

Look, I can see where you’ve gone wrong.

    1. You care about what you look like:
You should have sorted this out by the age of 10. 16 if you were into music.
Nothing’s changed, what was comfy then was comfy now.
If you look too stupid, a woman will usually tell you so.
This applies in all cases apart from man bags.

    2. You have a man bag.
Empty it now, throw it away and get a rucksack.
If you are under 35 or are a courier, you may have a courier bag.
If you can remember when The Guardian was a quality paper you may have a satchel.

Depends what you want to put/keep in it really.
My belt bag does it’s job great for keeping my mobile phone and Windows Mobile Pocket PC (go on, have a laugh at the obsolete technology) together

I use courier bags, I have three, of different sizes. I want to be able to get at things easily, without having to take the bloody thing off all the time, which you have to do with a rucksack. A rucksack is for hiking or if you’re a foreign student, useless otherwise. Especially if you’re doing any shopping.

Except Shaun the Sheep ones, they are for laydeez on the back of motorbikes.

    It’s a good point.

I got a Helly Hansen one for Christmas last year. It’s great for river fishing, I can fit all my gear in no problem.
But I just can’t bring myself to use it in public.
I don’t have styled facial hair, pointy shoes or a fixie.
I may as well attempt to blend in by carrying a parasol.
    😀

Great for work if you have to carry stuff.
You can use it for cycling or walking too, so you save money.
Good for your posture, low profile, cheap and ubiquitous.

Panniers or Aldi bag for life for shopping, surely?
    🙂

I hate carrying stuff in my hands all day (it also looks like you’re having to carry your wife’s shopping). Most rucksacks look daft in town so I have a courier type bag for drinks and coat and small stuff I have purchased. So I’m with you OP, lead don’t follow.

I’ve always used the very waterproof Timbuktu courier bag customised build black with the uber fluorescent White middle panel.

Obvioulsly its ballistic nylon as well.. But they are actually waterproof which can make a big difference to dry or wet pants in work or more likely freeballing.

Hate panniers an racks too cycle/bike specific and boring…..

Leather man bag here. Use it for taking lunch and tablet pc to work. On my belt drive single speed. Normally wearing tweed.

I’m still the fastest guy on my commute.

Ooh I dont think I’m a leader, just a country boy / slightly middle aged man. I know they were the rage a while back, was just surprised theyvhae vanished again so quickly, as I find it useful.

Rucksack for the bike, not getting in the way whilst shopping.

Wife likes it, so I’m happy.

I have a low alpine bag for wallet keys phone passport and sweets. A rucksack for shopping and change of clothes for child when not travelling by bike and a courier bag for on the bike . I have had some form of man bag for years it saves filling your pockets and means you always have the stuff you need to hand .

    I had 3 fears as a child.
    1.War
2.Motorbikes not having indicators and being afraid of turning right.
    3. Who would carry my coat if I got hot.
    1. I is still an issue,2 is sorted and 3.it goes in my man bag.

2 pockets: keys go in the same one as the wallet.
