my better half is about to be finished from her job, as she has been off sick for 12 months suffering from CFS and Fibromyalgia.
I was wondering if anybody knew if she will be able to apply for any income support?
thanks.
cheeky bump for daytime shift
I haven't signed on for six years so this might be out of date.
When I was made redundant I got six months on income support because I had been in work for a certain amount of time and had paid enough national insurance. After six months my money would have stopped as I lived with my girlfriend who worked full time.
As she is ill she may be able to claim disability living allowance, but there are many hoops to jump through.
Wow no scumbag leach on society posts, stw is loosing its touch.
Citizens advice should be able to point ou in the right direction.

"losing"
Standards haven't slipped that far ๐
You both have my sympathy. I had an ME diagnosis which got me benefits for a while. It also got me to see a helpful and sympathetic person at the jobcentre. Though the rules must have changed since.
It has to be worth registering in some way for the NI contributions, doesn't it?
Haha! I was expecting some comments along the lines of 'benefit scrounger'. ๐
She went to CAB last week, so I guess she has started the ball rolling.
Both of them - at the same time - that's a bit of a stinker.
yep, she really struggles some days, and on a good day she tries to do too much and then ends up Knackered again the following day... ad infinitum...
Is she getting good advice on how to tackle the problem? 12 months is a long time to be off work. I'm not judging, as both myself and my mum have been in a similar position. Thankfully both of us are much better, but it's been a long road. NHS help can be limited. Email me if there's anything you want to discuss.
