What now?? and how can that ever be topped??
Kept me going through a few shi!e trips offshore.
I have finished Dexter, and nothing else is catching my eye at the moment. Help!!
Boardwalk Empire ?
The Wire ?
Sons of Anarchy?
I am in the same boat.....nothing will ever come near.
Definitely The Wire, it's amazing. Give it time though, it takes a few episodes to get into
I have already watched The Wire and The Shield. I thought they could not be beaten till Breaking Bad. God i am lost !!
Go old skool, Oz is still one of my favourite series.
I assume you've already seen (the incredible) Band of Brothers and (to a lesser extent) The Pacific?
The Sopranos? I'm on the third season, it's good but certainly doesn't excite me like The Wire did.
The West Wing?
Boardwalk Empire, you are next ๐
Yep seen Band of Brothers. Fantastic ๐
I am gonna watch Kes tonight.
Isn't there a Saul Goodman spin-off planned? Fingers crossed....
Better call Saul...
Mike Ehrmentraut is now set to appear too!!
But did Walt die?!
Justified might be up your alley
Hell on Wheels looks promising. Just started watching a couple of weeks ago. (ITV4 10pm tonight)
My name's Cougar and I'm a Breaking Bad survivor.
After a brief foray into scifi with two seasons of Continuum, I'm now thoroughly enjoying working through Person of Interest.
The Walking Dead
Prison Break was better than I thought it would be.
but then Season 2 came along, and rrrreeeeaaaaallllyyyy dragged (imo)
The bridge
Deadwood - is waaay better than Hell On Wheels and a worthy follow up to BB
Game of Thrones - obviously
Battlestar Galactica - a bit spiritual in places
Justified - very very good bit of a slow burner
Firefly/serenity -short and very sweet
Fringe -clever twist on x-files
Sons of Anarchy - cheesey but
Twin Peaks- the original thinky TV series does get weird
Sopranos - the next thinky one after twin peaks, it was a long gap
Oz - gritty a bit camp, worth watching
Carnivale - axed too soon but had something good
Deep Space Nine- no really long term story arc was excellent
Babylon 5- if you can handle DS9 youre in for a treat!
Suernatural - silly, gory, bromance, lots of series though
Spartacus- boobs n gore
Rome- like spartacus only a bit more grown up, 2nd series was too rushed
The Killing (swedish version)gripping story, great acting cozy jumpers
The Bridge (Danish version) see above, less jumpers
stuff ive not watched but wanna
boardwalk empire
vikings
house of cards
I finished The Wire and gave up TV.
But I'm now building up to Breaking Bad... judging by one American friend's utter devotion, I know it's gonna be good.
Boxelder, just finished the Bridge. I have full on Insomnia after being on nights for 2 weeks and found it on my Catch up TV on Virgin. Really good.
Kimbers. Top post. Ill have to do some googling and work out what is next. Boardwalk Empire i think.
TRUE DETECTIVE
Only on episode 3 at the moment (bumped for superbowl, wtf!) but it's insanely good so far.
Mathew Macconaughey is superb, as is Woody Harrelson..... not funny, but very dark. Feels a bit like Se7en.
Lillyhammer on netflix is really good watch
These have been mentioned already but my favourites post BB are:
Sons of Anarchy
Walking Dead
Firefly
The Killing
The Bridge
I watched Battlestar Galactica but got bored by the end, first season is great though.
Anyone tried the hannibal series?
please....no spoilers about whether he dies or not ๐
just watched another 2 episodes tonight on netflix, currently midway through series 3. we'll be in the same boat when its finished, so bookmarking this thread for future reference ๐
Anyone tried the hannibal series?
I thought it was superb, an amazing dark atmosphere I'd not seen the likes of before, the acting is top drawer.
just started watching Helix, seems interesting so far but not sure how far it can go.
+1 True Detective looks very promising so far
Netflix? I jumped straight into House of Cards after finishing Breaking Bad about three weeks ago. As much as I enjoyed Breaking Bad and would argue it's probably the most original series in a long time, I enjoyed House of Cards more. Brilliant. Finished the series over a long weekend...
The killing
24
Homeland
Just starting BB only 4 episodes in. Lots to come!!!!
I don't know what episode we are on, but Skyler's just texted to say the baby's coming and Walt's got a deal to make!!
All from Netflix:
The Bridge
House of Cards
and the little-known and very under-rated:
Spiral
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477507/
Brilliant, gritty French cop show. I aspire to the insouciance of Gilou.
Just watched Under The Dome Season 1 (staring Hank from BB) and also watching The Blacklist.
The Shield,
The Shield.
The Shield.
Might I suggest 'Orange is the New Black'?
True Detective. just sat and watch the first 3 episodes, potential to be up there with the best of them. McConaghy is turning out to be an outstanding actor these days.
Have to second stuartie's suggestion for spiral, engaging plot, brilliant characters, reminds me every time I watch it why I love France so much.
French woman wearing a vest, simply does not get better than that.
McConaghy is turning out to be an outstanding actor these days
^ going to watch Dallas Buyers Club this weekend, on the strength of his performance in True Detective.
batfink, you'll not be dissappoint, superb performance. shout out for jared leto too in that.
I can't say enough good about Justified. Utterly under rated and with the best characters of any series. It just keeps on giving.
+1 for House of Cards and the second series starts on 14th Feb
