Good on him, have a good ride to all that go.
RestlessNative what would be the point in him finishing the tour of ireland on Sunday? He wasn't in contention, wasn't under pressure from his team and had nothing to prove in riding a pretty dangerous circuit.
Do you know how many abandoned, it wasn't like he was the only one.

Yeah I know exactly how many abandoned as I was stood on the hill in a monsoon watching not very many cycle past!

at the end of my comment there it is a stupid end to a race I think as anyone not in contention has no incentive to cycle past thier team bus and up the hill
