I think he's having trouble removing the actuator , hence he's thinking of getting service .

I'm buggered if I can get the collar off mine. pouring boiling water over it will be my next attempt.

Failing that it's off for a service somewhere.

According to his facebook he's shut for the next week or so. But I have heard good things. Jungle state 85 quid for the service and tell you what you get and you can submit for the service on the website.

I'd avoid South Coast Suspension after unsatisfactory servicing on 2 x posts. I now use Jungle, who are also cheaper for a basic strip & clean service.

tbh id avoid south coat just on the basis that he runs "competitions/raffles" all the time on facebook.

I sent jungle my i950, they did a flat rate £75 service inc return postage (I think that's gone up to £85), in my case that meant "tip all the internals into the bin and fit new bits" and didn't cost any extra

(it must be one of the oldest i950s and it's in constant use so it was fair enough really!)

unless you're stripping the cartridge assembly it is relatively simple to do a basic service on them. I struggled with removing the actuator too. Managed to undo it wearing a tight fitting marigold and gripping the shaft as tight as possible. I found this forum page of mtbr to be invaluable ks lev servicing

I do a basic service (like a fork lowers service essentially) my own posts. But recently got the dreaded 2cm drop on my lev integra. Will be sending it off for a full service soon.

Same experience here, was advised that 5mm of obvious sag at full extension was normal and appeared quite offended when I queried this post service. In the end I went to Jungle and they told me the cartridge had failed and the post needed new internals which cured the issue. As I had already had the post "serviced" at South Coast Suspension they only charged me half which I thought was brilliant and the job was done while I waited in the shop. Personally I would go with Jungle.
