I'm stumped.
I can do the front no issues but how the hell do you get the centrelock disc onto the rear? The diam of the disc side axle end is just smaller than the splines on the lockring, so it'll go over and screw on but you can't get a cassette tool over the axle to tighten it up!!
You probably need a different cassette tool that has a larger bore. I had to get one to get over the axle on a superstar hub.
The superstar tool has a large bore.
You need a diff lock ring,
Kinesis have updated the website,
"NOTE: When fitting thru axle adapters it is probably with most shimano systems that you will need to use an oversized disc lock ring. "
As I was cought out by this as well, not been told or even putting one in the box!
Presumably a new tool as well? Or is that the same splines as a HT BB?
Ah good point on those. Same as ht2 spline tool.
Thanks everyone. Wonder if any of my 3 LBS's have one for today?
It's 'because it needs to be bigger to take the thru axle'
Uhuh, like the drive side? And thr front? A designer/engineer please tell me what I am missing.
Great wheels in every other way though.
LBS don't have any (boo) but can order one in from Shimano, where they have stock (yay).
But it's £22.00 😯 For a 10g bit of aluminium
Any ideas on plan B. Superstar make one for £7.99 but no stock.
Any other ideas?
Shimano do a cheaper one,

nil stock due next mth,
Or get one of these kits that is cheaper and have the same lock ring 😉

If you drop me a email I see what I have in stock, think I got one of the kits, I can check tomorrow.
I got mine from upgrade (kinesis distributor/designers) about 8 quid each through my lbs
mtb rob, can't find your email so sent you a FB message instead.
