Have an 8speed KMC on my Langster so may have to go that way again, to give it it’s due, it has been on the bike for about 3years

Similar thing happened to me today. Rear mech ripped off and chain snapped in 3 places. Rubbish….

3 years is good in my opinion! I used to change my bmx chan every 6 months to be safe. Some went before that..

Z610 it is then, are singlespeed specific chains slightly tougher?

This is the first time I’ve ever seen damage like that before and lightning appears to have struck twice!

I’d check your chainring for any damage, is it possible that the drivetrain is too tight, as you mention it’s a singlespeed?

I have a short Shimano Yumeya jobby. Ive not used it alot as I prefer kmc. I reckon its easily long enough for a ss. My emails in profile if interested

Can I put it down to a combination of a slightly to tight chain line ad my godlike ss thighs?

I’d get those thighs insured if I were you!

It is also new cassette and rings time otherwise you will be starting a new thread about why does my new chain slip / I’ve been ripped off and have a dodgy new chain!!

    Impressive work there though.
