Probably a well worn question, but I've searched forum for a specific answer. I've an older geared 853 inbred, was originally a mustard colour if that helps age it. It rides well for XC with an 80mm fork, but I'm interested in making it a bit more manageable for tech/down with a longer fork. Anyone had experience with a 120mm on this frame. I think it will put the BB up to about 13.25", so I'm anxious about the handling and whether the ungussetted down/top tubes will cope before committing money to a 120mm fork such as a Reba/maxle lite

How much travel on 853 inbred?

while i realise a 50% travel increase is not reflected in the axle to crown height....
thats a big change, that you will notice.
and yeah that BB is pretty high.might feel like a gate with the steering from a barge.
