Looking for some views here…

I’m looking to buy a high end (used) 2007 bike which originally retailed for c£4700. The bike is in good nick but isn’t covered by any warranty.

I don’t want to take the pi55 with the seller so having looked at eBay prices for the same make / price concluded that the bike is worth a tad under 50% of the original cost.

The seller is looking for quite a bit more than that and I’m reluctant to raise my offer – similar bikes are going for c$2500 on eBay in the US compared to the original rrp there of $5,550.

What do people reckon is a fair price? Any views welcome!

At most 50% i’d say. I have a bit of 50% after 1 year then about 10% a year theory.

Is that FJ from Marple? If so please have another race 🙂

Depends what it is worth to you. If, however, you could buy one from somewhere else for 50% of the original RRP then that should be your benchmark.

Is it the bike you really want? Are there many of this particular model available? It would have to be in superb condition to be worth 50% would have thought.
