    I’d be a lot less bothered than you seem to be.

    New boilers seem to have a better service life than a lot of the old rubbish. I’d simply ask them to tell you that it’s working and get it checked when you move in (or give it a sly blast on your next viewing)

    The original occupier is deceased, the house is empty and has been for some time and everything is switched off. Getting it checked when we move in runs the risk of having someone tell us that xyz are wrong and will cost $$ to put right.

    I think so, I’m just not quite sure what I want to do about it yet!
