Urgent help needed all you STW people.
Husband booked ski holiday with 2 of our kids to Argentiere flying today, last night looked for passports and his had expired in January!! Then the numpty doubled his score by cancelling all the flights when I could have gone! Now costing megabucks, he's got flights going out Monday to Geneva landing at 2320hrs. Accommodation booked from tonight for the week but now needs extra 2 nights next Sat and Sun for him and 2 kids, aged 10 and 12.

    My questions are,
    1. Does anyone know of a transfer person/company that can do late night transfers, airport to resort or am I better sorting out trains for them.

    2. Any recommends for 2 nights accomm as low cost as poss as this is setting me back by an extra 1k + for the Sat and Sunday

Here's hoping! Prob be asking for a Solicitor recommendation soon!!

I would get onto the website of the tourist office of the resort your off to, and mail or call them, they are usually your best bet for nights here and there

    For transfers try British run
http://www.chamexpress.com/ 25 euros each way to your resort. Nice people 🙂 I think that they also have accomodation in the Les Houches end of the Chamonix Valley.

Also try http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/ for possible accomodation help.

Good luck and have a nice trip 🙂

Cheers guys! Have posted on UKClimbing. I've 2 very disappointed kids as their chums, now also disappointed, are off to the airport now. Hopefully they'll catch up on Tuesday.

Loads of private transfer companies, Chamexpress (as above) seem pretty good. Going rate is 25€ each way.

For cheap accommodation up in Argentiere, check out http://www.gitebelvedere.com (or google Gite Belvedere, not sure if the address is right). They run both a Gite (very, very cheap, dorm style!) and a small Hotel in the middle of Argentiere. I've stayed in both and they're both pretty basic, but clean, friendly and, above all, cheap!

Might be cheaper to hire a car. That way you can do your own transfer and stay somewhere a bit further out of town.

Remember if you do hire a car in France you need your FULL drivers licence! Most places used to accept photocopies etc however they need the lot, think it's illegal to drive without being in possession of licence. We went to Morzine about 5 yrs ago and forgot licence had pre-booked a car, they wouldn't accept faxed verified copies from the DVLA! Just in case you have another boo boo!
