Had a filling about 6 months ago and the side of the tooth has just fallen out whilst eating a sandwich (cheese & tomato).
Rang the dentist's and my normal one (who did the filling) has been sent on a 3 year training course, I asked if 'it was to do fillings', which the receptionist didn't find amusing.
Anyway how much do you reckon this'll set me back?

same thing happened to me just before xmas, it cost me 200 notes on the nhs. went in for the first root canal treatment last week, was pretty worrying hearing the dentist going on about how much blood there was and that she wanted to keep widening the canal, thought id end up with a flip top head by the time she was done!
I have just been i have to have a referral so they can sedate me as its a tricky extraction! I am pooing myself I REALLY hate dental work, I may just not turn up!
currently going through similar having broken a tooth last year, going to set me back £800 for root canal, then a white crown.
Very expensive dentist, but I hate dentists but and he is very good and somehow i never feel that bad about seeing him.
It's only the money that bothers me, in a perverse way I actually quite like the taste and smell of having teeth drilled to bits.
Hopefully won't need any root canal etc, doesn't even hurt at the moment.
I might go gold if I get the choice, Ghetto Yeti!
Half of a wisdom tooth cracked off about 9 months ago. Every now and then another bit would fall off. In late december it began to flare up so i went to the emergency clinic (i wasn't registered with a dentist) at the local dental hospital and they took it out at the oral surgery clinic that day for £16. And it didn't hurt too much. I had convinced myself i was terrified of the dentist but it really wasn't bad at all.
one of my molars was so heavily filled that eventually there wasn't much tooth left; eventually it broke off.
I ended up with a white gold crown. Can't remember how much though, although it was on the NHS
