I thought I had it all sorted earlier with the first wheel, but I am now assuming it was just luck...
I'm trying to do the ghetto tubeless thing on a set of 717's and am having real trouble getting the tyre to seat properly around the valve. This seems to be mainly due to the nice people at Schwalbe putting an extra thick area of rubber around the valve on their 20 inch tubes, and when the tube is stretched onto the rim, it doesn't sit down nicely like the rest of the tube does, and seems to partially block the lip on the rim.
I've managed to get one tyre to seat properly, but am rather nervous that the bead might not be engaged as much as I'd like, and at the first sign of pressure will just burp at that point.
Anyone else had this sort of problem?
