I thought I'd share a picture from the best ride I had on the Cotic in 2017.

'New' BFe to replace the old, old BFe.  Only done for the 44mm head tube so I could put the Yari's on.

Teethgrinder, is that a new Bfe26? If so how and when did you get that? I've had one on order since February...😥

New BFe26s are still on the boat, which is due to dock this weekend. We should start seeing them towards the end of next week or the week after, according to the latest update.

Yup - new to me, not the new, new BFe.

It's a 27.5" frame and forks are 27.5" as well but it has my 26" wheels in from the old, old 26" frame.  Will see how it goes in the big little woods of Chopwell tonight, but looks like loads of clearance for the inevitable mud for later in the year.

It was a toss up between this of a Sick Wulf 4130, but the wait would have meant my HB160 arriving before the Wulf, I think.

Pleased to see this thread get a new lease of life. Especially as there should be some mk4 Solaris owners soon!

Heres mine with HLR McQueens. Having ridden on Pikes and Lyriks for as long as I can remember, these were as easy to set up after i de pressured them first, set slightly lower than the advised set up, they are plush, plenty of adjustment and I think they are stiff enough...

2.8 Maxxis and Hope 35 rims as per Cys recommendation. Its going on holiday to the Swiss Alps tomorrow

Here's mine, a few weeks old now. I'm really happy with it, the longer reach is great for my monkey proportions!

Already posted pictures of this elsewhere on the site, but no harm having one here too I suppose 🙂

Wondering whether it's worth upgrading to the CC shock. Although it's hard to imagine that the bike could get much better than it is already.

Will attempt to post pictures of my new BFe 650 when I get back tonight and pick it up from the shop. Got tired of waiting for a new 26 frame so just using my old wheels and forks as a stopgap until I can afford a set of pikes and new wheels.

roverpig, im thinking the same thing, the rebound is still a bit quick on the rear shock even on slowest...

Yes, I agree. In many ways the O2 shock suits me very well. I like the simplicity. Set the sag, wind the rebound all the way to the slowest, then you just have 4 levels of compression damping to play with and I find them all useful. Having said that, I spend the vast majority of the time in the middle two settings; only using 1 for road sections and 4 for long descents with no pedalling. So, it should be possible to set the CC up to suit and take advantage of the better rebound daping. At least if I do buy a CC I've still got the O2 for when it breaks 🙂

Still need to put the chain on, shorten the rear brake hose and fettle. That'll have to wait though, can't remember who borrowed my chain splitter and have run out of olives and barb thingies!

Very nice. I really like the mercury finish. Is the gold/ orange seat clamp by design? It works well as a hint of colour.

I've been wondering if I should get one to do my 26in parts justice. They just won't shine on a BFe 275!!!

Yeah, got the orange Hope seat clamp to go with the orange highlights on the decals. Thinking about getting the adjuster on my forks re-anodised orange too!

Yeah, thanks. I got them TFTuned and got some new decals made up for them, silver and orange, naturally, whilst waiting for the frame.

Bit of an update on mine. the HLR McQueens went back in the end, they packed up on first day in the Alps and Im now on new Pikes.

The O2 shock got swapped out for a new Cane Creek inline and feels much better, the rebound was just to fast on the O2 even at slowest setting. Guys a Cotic did a quick swap for me when I was in the area.

Oh and Ive had a Solaris max delivered today 😉

So have now had a couple of rides on this and have to say I love it.  It descends so quickly and holds speed. Despite being longer than the bike it replaced it feels more agile and it climbs way better than you would think.

The Yari forks are creaking like an old door so they are going to be replaced with Mattoc Pros and sent off for warranty.

It's not Friday, but I wanted to join the Cotic love in. Picked up frame and wheels from the classifieds here and built up the rest of it with bits off of another bike.

Currently got a 27 plus front wheel as the forks are boost, but I'll be swapping that out for a normal 27.5 wheel when I've got adaptors for the hub. Going to get some wider bars for it too so I've left the cables a little bit longer.

First ride last night and nothing fell off (including me) so that's a great start.

Got my first ride in this morning on my new SolarisMAX. An hour and a half of my local single-track, steep and technical, sub-tropical 'jungle.'

I sold a dual suspension rig and am retiring (for now) my carbon Highball, taking a punt on this as a do-it-all.

Pleased with the ability to take dually lines i'd avoid on my Highball. It just hammered through the rocks and roots.

Impressed with the technical climbing - better than i'd feared, so that's a relief.

A bit concerned by the Trace 36 forks... they've got a horrific top out clunk which i'm really hoping is going to go away somehow!

Phwoaar that's a good looking bike!

Sadly the early hours of a friday 3 weeks ago was some lowlife's Cotic day as they stole my beloved mk1 Solaris among a haul of mine and my families bikes 😢
