2.35 Hans Dampfs are pretty big. Bit unnecessarily big imo.

Ardent 2.4 or Purgatory 2.4 also. Get a big rim like a Flow, TL28 or P35 too if you want a tyre that big though, hard to get the best out of a big tyre w/o a bigger rim. I'm quite happy on a Purgatory 2.2 on a P35 a the moment, as I read somewhere, big (28, or better, 35mm or more) rims mean most 2.2s ride like a 2.4 and 2.4s feel 'kin huge. At 16-18 psi it's quite true.

Charlie the bikemonger will build you a nice fat wheel. Alternatively, I bought a 47mm wide trials bike rim from Tartybikes, built up on a 135mm singlespeed rear hub and stuck a Surly Enabler fork on front of my 29er. Think you could also go with a Kris Holms unicycle 29er rim. My standard set up is aP35 with Ardent 2.4.

Mine was a 'top of the range' Trials bike rim from Tartybikes. A 'Trialtech SL' about £60 I think, its the one used on the "Sandman bikes'. They have cheaper ones, still 47mm wide in single or double wall from about £35 or so. Way cheaper and lighter than the Surly options.

So to be clear these are 26" rims that with a real fat tyre like the Surly Nate or Larry will become a 29er size wheel to match your 29er on the rear yes? Therefore you will need an Enabler fork or similar to take the 4" tyre width. Also, you will need to use a rear hub 135mm for the fork, a singlespeed one works best cos no dishing. This effectively becomes a fat-front 29er or a half-fat 29er. Your other option is the Kris Holm freeride 29er rim for any standard 29er tyre.
Hope this helps. I'll drink a virtual beer on you, cheers!

That's exactly what I did for mine - just got finished building it up today.

Hey Sam,
should have said that yeah my half -fat is on one of your Pegasus frames. Its a cool set up but I do notice the extra heft. Had to gear down the ss to 34-20 from 34-18 but am also running the q-rotor which I think helps.
